About
Precision Breeding. Valley Resilience.
Our mission is the meticulous breeding of queens that embody the right balance: the strength to weather harsh seasons, a calm temperament for the backyard beekeeper, and a natural drive for productivity. We aren't just raising bees; we're cultivating more resilient colonies for beekeepers across Eastern Ontario.
We offer queen bees and nucs for Ottawa, the Ottawa Valley, Eastern Ontario, and Ontario.

My Journey
I was working for a vineyard when I became interested in bees, and it was at the Ottawa Farmer's Market that I met Brian Lacey and was offered a summer job. I began my journey under the mentorship of the team at Blue Shoes Honey, where I learned the craft from the ground up.
Now in my seventh season, my fascination with the hive has evolved into a deep-seated passion for queen breeding—the heart and soul of a successful apiary.
In 2021, I moved to the Ottawa Valley to return to my roots and be closer to my family. Since then, I've focused on developing bees that aren't just productive, but are a pleasure to work with.
My Philosophy
When it comes to my bees, I prioritize two things above all else:
Gentleness First
I believe beekeeping should be a calm, enjoyable experience. I select my genetics for docility, ensuring my bees are good neighbors and easy to manage.
Overwintering Success
Our Valley winters are tough. I breed for local hardiness so my colonies—and yours—have the best chance of coming out of spring strong.
Natural & Organic Care
I take a holistic approach to colony health. I manage Varroa mites using organic treatments and by leveraging the natural rhythms of the hive—such as strategic brood breaks—to keep pest levels low without relying on harsh or synthetic chemicals.
Beyond the Hive
When I'm not deep in a brood chamber, I'm still usually working with the land. You can find me growing food with Cedar Roots Farm, exploring the hidden gems of the Valley with a fishing rod in hand, or—in my other life—grading math tests. Whether it's in the classroom, the garden, or the apiary, I'm driven by the same thing: a love for the local community and the natural beauty of the Ottawa Valley.
